After Action Report: Anzio Express

What happened? The Event this year really went south. The Museum started Construction in the most conjested area of the Museum grounds which caused a lot of logistical problems and trouble with the Museum Staff. The Street Cars and Electric buses were shut down because of the construction with took away over half of the moving attractions of the Museum.

Some Members of the Museum Staff were very hostil towards the reenactors and there equipment. Two Members of the FSSF 6-3, my unit were abused and hassled by Museum Staff in regards to the Sleeping births which were rented for the weekend, and in just a general way the mood in the air was not good.

As for the re-enactors, there was a good turn out, but not as big as last year, at least not in the number of tents and displays. The Dance Saturday night was held off Museum grounds, it worked out well, it was good to get away from the Museum.

In most respects the Event was an average happining, but the underlying tension was most unnecessary.

As far as this group is concerned, unless there are major changes I will recommend to the Membership not to go back next year.

In Attendance:  Adkins, Dolan, Scrober, Weston, Erber, Carlin, Holden, Carlin, Holmes, Hanley

S/SGT Adkins, G.A.

FSSF 6-3 Commanding
