Qualification Badges

 

Weapons qualification badges are earned at a Force-sponsored, live-fire qualification (except bazooka, mortar, and grenades). Weapon qualification will be in line with U.S. Army WWII standards. In line with FSSF training, German weapons may also be fired for familiarization.

 

Rifle Bar- One bar only. Qualification consists of scoring 10 shots at 25 yards.

• Marksman: 70-79 out of a possible 100.

• Sharpshooter: 80-89 out of a possible 100.

• Expert: 90-100 out of a possible 100.

Qualifying rifles include the M1 Garand, and the M1903A3.

 

Carbine Bar – One bar only. Qualification consists of scoring 10 shots at 25 yards. Skill levels are same as for rifles. Qualifying models include the M1 and the M1A1 (paratrooper model).

 

Pistol (Dismounted) – One bar only. Qualification consists of scoring 5 shots at 10 yards.

• Marksman: 20-29 out of a possible 50.

• Sharpshooter: 30-39 out of a possible 50.

• Expert: 40-50 out of a possible 50.

Qualifying pistols include the M1911, .45 Cal., Victory Model, .38 Cal., and the M1917 .45 Colt.

 

Machine Guns- One bar only. Qualification consists of scoring 20 shots at 25 yards.

• Marksman: 170-179 out of a possible 200.

• Sharpshooter: 180-189 out of a possible 200.

• Expert: 190-200 out of a possible 200.

Machine guns that can be qualified on and the bar associated with them include:

M1918A2 Browning automatic rifle, .30 Cal.-Auto Rifle Bar

M1919A3 or A4 Light Machine Gun, Browning, .30 Cal.-Machine Gun Bar

M1941 Light Machine Gun, .30 Cal., Johnson-Machine Gun Bar

M2 Heavy Machine Gun, Browning, .50 Cal.-Machine Gun Bar

 

Submachine Gun Bar – One bar only. Qualification consists of scoring 5 shots at 10 yards.

• Marksman: 20-29 out of a possible 50.

• Sharpshooter: 30-39 out of a possible 50.

• Expert: 40-50 out of a possible 50.

Qualifying submachine guns include the M1A1 Thompson, .45 Cal. M3 Sub Machine Gun, .45 Cal., and the M1928A1 Thompson, .45 Cal.

Anti-Tank – One bar only. Member must destroy at least one enemy armored vehicle at a tactical event.

 

Grenade Bar- One bar only. Qualification consists of correctly throwing five grenades and scoring three simulated grenades out of a possible five direct hits on a target or taking out any vehicle during a tactical.

 

Mortars – One bar only. Member qualifies with each type. Qualification consists of mortar crew firing five rounds hitting a designated target or taking out a vehicle or heavy weapons position at a tactical. Qualifying mortars include 60 mm and 81 mm.

 

Bayonet – A knife kill with a rubber knife during a tactical.
